Vintage and very rare!! Use the key on your vintage 98 SL500 or use it as a sheer collectors item because that it is. Almost 25 years old. OEM Already been programmed before. You will either need to get it reprogrammed by your local locksmith or do it yourself. Yes, some key fobs can be easily reprogrammed without a programmer I’m not sure which ones I just sell them I’m a girl but YouTube and Google will give you all the info you need. Last and worst case you can take it to the Mercedes Benz dealer and get them to reprogram it but they are too expensive majority of the time. ;) If you get a local locksmith saying he can’t reprogram it, 99% of the time he is just wanting to use one of his keys to make extra money off of you. Do your research and find out the FCCID# of the key you need that way we can make sure it is compatible to your car. I will confirm before shipping. Thanks.
